Joy is pure, unbounded happiness. Joy comes with the learning of profound truths, or when success exceeds all expectations, or when all seems right in your world. Joy may accompany your sense of mastery as you effectively manage stressful demands. Laughter and smiles come easily, and good will infuses you.
There is a place of peace that awaits within you. In solitude, slow down, still your mind, and imagine that which makes you happiest. If distractions intrude, push them out. In so doing, you will momentarily displace your troubling thoughts, and begin to feel stirrings of pure joy.
In the altruistic process of self-transcendence,
‘I slept and dreamed that life was joy.
I awoke and saw that life was service.
I acted and, behold, service was joy.’ –Rabindranath Tagore
