Vigilance
Fulfillment of a responsibility requires monitoring of personal functioning and changes in the situation. Be aware of distractions, interruptions, and such causes of your impaired function as illness, declining health, excessive workload, or compassion fatigue.
Prevent risks and threats to the health, safety, and well-being of loved ones and others for whom you are responsible. Watch for indicators of abuse and neglect of children, the disabled, the elderly, and animals. Be vigilant for threats to the human and civil rights of others.
Observe ‘the big picture’ but be attentive to detail. Maintain personal effectiveness so that you may fulfill your responsibility to others.
