Modesty
Standards of modesty vary widely worldwide, and are influenced by religion, local traditions, social codes, professions, circumstances, and occasion. In many societies, modesty is the mode of appearance and personal comportment intended to avoid sexual attraction. Modesty in attitude and dress avoids offending others and conveys respect for one’s surrounding culture. However, if preoccupied with modesty, one’s spontaneity is suppressed because personality characteristics and creativity are inhibited.
Consider modesty as your freedom from vanity or conceit. It is the formal, reserved, respectful propriety of your behavior.
