Persuasion is both the process and the successful outcome of influencing someone. Persuasion may use manipulation (eliciting a sense of guilt or shame using ‘shoulds’ and ‘oughts’; incitement; proselytism; sloganeering; prompting, or false promises). It may use charisma alone (the radiating of powerful grace, beauty, confidence, awareness, and wisdom) to elicit trust and commitment.
Persuasion is most ethical when supported with truth, facts, and reasoned logic.
