Typically, you are pragmatic and focused. Certainly there are many contexts in which you must be emotionally warm or sympathetic with others. To effectively relate to them and be supportive, you must assure them of your genuine caring.
Bring yourself to eye contact at their eye level, particularly with children and pets. Speak calmly and kindly. Convey your understanding of their circumstances and emotional state by connecting their situation with their feelings. Express your confidence that they will heal. Reinforce their strengths, and provide encouragement. Assure them of your ongoing support.
Tenderness offers a gentle empathy which comforts others.
